by Team RESQ

A hardworking, diligent, soft-spoken member of the RESQ team who never shies away from any laborious work is our very own Pandhari Totewad. To say that almost the entire Totewad family is a part of the RESQ family wouldn’t be an exaggeration. Pandhari’s brother Vitthal and wife Sheetal also work with the organization in different departments.

Before joining RESQ, Pandhari worked as a daily wage labor and lived in close vicinity to the RESQ Center which always drew him towards the work RESQ did. Finally in 2017 he joined RESQ full-time as a member of the cleaning staff and has since worked in various departments. Currently he manages the sanctuary dogs and helps the rehabbers in creating species specific enrichment for ex-situ enclosures. Pandhari has also worked closely with cattle in the domestic large animal TTC and admits that working with cows has always been his most precious experience.

Inherently an outdoorsy person, Pandhari loves to work in the outdoors and on DIY projects. His most favorite kinds are to create useful tools and items out of waste. He can also make furniture, can repairs electronics, can help in plumbing and welding. He contributes immensely towards upkeep of the RESQ equipment and transport crates with his repair and welding skills. Pandhari also loves to prune trees and plays a major role in maintaining the plantation at RESQ. When not working, he loves to listen to music and do some or the other kind of repair work. The quote he lives by is “karma kar phal ki chinta mat kar” and when asked what animal he would’ve loved to be born as, “a cow for sure” he says calmly.
