Q.1 How can I report an injured/sick animal?

To report an injured/sick animal to RESQ, please call us on 9890999111. The RESQ Phone is operative from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm daily, 365 days a year. Please note that sometimes, we may experience a high volume of calls, which is why our number may be busy. Please keep trying, and we’ll do our best to assist you further.

Q.2 What information will I need to provide when reporting an injured/sick animal to RESQ?

To successfully report a case, you will need to provide your name, contact details, location of the animal, a photo of the animal (shared via WhatsApp) along with a short description about the condition of the animal in question.

Q.3 What if I cannot wait with the animal until your ambulance arrives?

If you cannot wait with the animal until our ambulance arrives, you can ask a nearby vendor, security guard or shopkeeper to keep an eye on the animal and provide their phone numbers to our Rescue Coordinator.

Q.4 What if an animal has been reported multiple times by different individuals?

If a case about an injured/sick animal has been reported multiple times by different individuals, the case will get registered and linked to the first received report and successful contact.

Q.5 How long does your team take to respond?

Our Ambulance will be dispatched as soon as possible depending on the severity of the emergency and cases that have been lined up for the day. We have extremely limited resources and only 2 ambulances that attend to the majority of animal distress calls within the city, and do our best to attend to cases as soon as we are able.

Q.6 Will I be informed when your ambulance is about to arrive to administer aid to the injured/sick animal?

Our Ambulance Team will call you an hour or sometimes half an hour in advance to inform you that they are about to attend to your reported case.

Q.7 I want to bring an injured animal to RESQ, but I don’t have a car and your number is unreachable. What should I do?

In case our number is temporarily unreachable and you are unable to transport the animal yourself, please contact Mahesh (+91 95524 72550) or Balu (+91 80070 08698), both of whom run private ambulances in Pune city. You are encouraged to bring injured animals to the RESQ Centre for treatment (our opening hours are from 11:00 am to 5:00 pm), but please note that we cannot always guarantee animal admission as this is dependent on staff and space constraints at the Centre. As such, please be prepared to take the animal back with you after treatment has been administered.

Due to a high volume of calls, our number is sometimes busy. If you intend to bring an animal directly to the RESQ Centre, please email us on info@resqct.org to inform us so that our team can be prepared for your arrival.

Q.8 Can I report a case about my injured/sick pet?

RESQ is a non-profit organisation that works towards helping injured street animals (i.e, animals with no one to claim them). However, we also run a Pet Clinic that provides treatment to private (not homeless/stray) animals at nominal rates. If you would like to have your pet treated at our Clinic, please do not call us to report the case.
