Since stray cattle browse along city streets and consume anything they can find, they often ingest large amounts of garbage. A procedure known as a RUMENOTOMY is performed for cattle, where any foreign objects and impacted material is removed from the largest compartment of their four stomachs, the rumen. In the past, we have removed manja, jewellery, metal objects like screws, nuts and bolts, balloons and a variety of other objects.
Rumenotomies for stray cattle are lengthy surgeries which require plenty of manpower and time. Please help sponsor rumenotomy surgeries for impacted cattle at RESQ. Removing the garbage from their rumen will allow them to live without discomfort and have a good quality of life. You can sponsor by clicking on the Donate button below.
