Nankhatai was suffering for over 6 months before he got help.. A horse was spotted on and off in the Lohegaon area over the last six months with an abnormal swelling on his face. Some speculated that it was a wound caused due to violence against the animal while some others thought it might be a maggot wound. Finally, the case was reported to RESQ's helpline and we attempted to catch the horse. It took close to three hours to successfully complete this task but we were able to transport this handsome boy back to the RESQ Centre. He has been named Nankhatai, for the colour of his coat.
On closer examination, the swollen areas appear to be a tumour of some sort. Our vets are attempting to diagnose the kind of tumour it is to give the animal a more targeted line of treatment. Right now the open wounds caused due to the tumour are flushed on a regular basis and he is receiving anti inflammatory medication and antibiotics.
We know that Nankhatai has a long road to recovery ahead of him. He could really use your help! You can sponsor Nankhatai's medical expenses and stay at RESQ by clicking the Donate button below. Every little bit helps! 💛
