Nomad was found walking quietly beside a frail old man. As it turned out, the man resided in the slums of Yerwada, and had been walking all the way from Yerwada to Wagholi in an effort to find a government hospital that would treat the dog. We were astounded that both human and dog had been able to walk such a distance in such weakened conditions. Nomad had maggot-infested wounds on his ear, cheek and hind-leg, and needed immediate medical attention. Needless to say, we offered to take him in right away.
Now, this sweet, friendly animal is going to receive tons of love and care at the ResQ Centre. We have already expelled the maggots from his wounds, bandaged his injuries, and put him on a saline drip to help him regain his strength. Nomad will receive painkillers and antibiotics over the next few days, and we hope to see him turn into a strong, healthy boy very soon!
