Jai
Share and spread the word:
Jai is a sweet, friendly community dog who is 6+ years old. To say that he was found in a pitiful state is an understatement. Not only was he suffering from an extremely ulcerated mammary tumour, but it was also infested with maggots, causing him excruciating pain.
What may come to you as a surprise is that Jai is actually a male dog. While it is commonly presumed that only females can contract mammary tumours, this isn't the case. Genetics play a key role in this unfortunate condition, and although mammary tumours are rare in male dogs and cats, Jai is genetically predisposed to this. Imagine the excruciating pain this poor old dog must have endured alone on the streets!
Fortunately, Jai was reported on our webline before his condition could worsen further, and our veterinarians are going to do everything they can to help ease his suffering. Jai is going to need emergency surgery, antibiotics, and diligent medical care over the next few weeks. For a dog his age, it is difficult to say whether Jai will bounce back from the surgery, and we really need your love and support to help this sweet dog see it through.
