A victim of an unfortunate accident, this is Guru’s story...
Guru is a senior dog, who has lived on the streets of Pune all his life. Unfortunately, a recent car accident left him with a broken jaw, causing an open wound in his mouth which was severely infected with maggots. Life on the streets is hard as it is but a wound like this, would have made his chances of survival zero, if left unattended.
In unimaginable pain, he laid on the streets for days, suffering in silence, until a kind samaritan came across him and informed us. We brought Guru to the ResQ Centre last night, but his condition was grave. Unable to move his jaw at all, he had gone without food and water for a long time. He is extremely dehydrated, weak and is running a very high fever caused by the maggot infested wound. We are providing him with the necessary antibiotics, fluid therapy and daily dressing, but only time can tell how long Guru will take to recover completely.
Rs 9000= One month of daily dressing, antibiotics and food.
