Minji

NO, this is NOT a street dog with mange. This is a human neglected pet cruelty case. Meet Minji, an abandoned Doberman, and she is only about 2 years old.

A few days back, a man came with his pet to the RESQ Centre and wanted to leave her "forever" because of her condition. After a failed attempt at counselling him, we got very upset and told him if she is your pet, why have you let it get so bad?? We asked him to take her private vet (and handed him some numbers) because RESQ works only for street animals who do NOT have owners or for abandoned pedigrees with a medical condition. We did not take his contact details because he said he would take her to a vet finally.

One week later, she came to us from the streets directly. She had been abandoned. She looks like a grandma right now but we are sure she's going to look young and pretty once her hair comes back. She has a lovely personality and we are working very hard on her recovery but she still has a long way to go.

If you see your neighbours or anyone ill treating or neglecting a pet, there are Honorary Animal Welfare Officers (HAWO's) and an animal legal enforcement group in this city to help them.

Please get it touch with them not just to report the case BUT ONLY if you can collect evidence (photo/videos) and ONLY if you have the courage to stand up publicly. Maybe you can help them, before it gets this bad.

Please support the treatment of animals like Minji:http://www.resqct.org/donate
