Zira the piglet was only 2 months old when she was hit by a vehicle and left to die. She came to us with a critical head trauma and jaw fracture, and was in such a horrible condition that we worried whether she would even make it through the night! Treating Zira at first was a huge challenge as she was prone to frequent seizures, so administering IV medication was difficult. Soon enough, however, this determined little piggy began to respond to our touch. After 3 days of intensive IV care, nerve tonics and lots of TLC, Zira is making an AMAZING recovery! She is standing up on her own and actively seeking food and cuddles. We are continuing to monitor her closely and are hoping for the very best!
