Ron the Retreiver is a sweetheart who deserves to know that he's not been given up on just because he fell ill!
He was rescued from khadakwasla where he had been abandoned; tied to a tree with a rope. His abdomen was so distended that his rescuers earlier thought that he was a female! Turned out, he was suffering from a condition known as ASCITES, which is the accumulation of fluid in the abdominal cavity. The oddest thing is that the fur around his abdomen was already shaved. Perhaps his previous owners had taken him to a vet for an X ray or an ultrasound and decided to abandon him and leave it up to fate because they could not afford or did not want to bear the costs of treating his condition.
Ron is a very friendly boy and has not objected to our vets examining or treating him, even though he must be in tremendous pain. Our doctors have extracted close to TWENTY LITRES of fluid from his abdomen cavity in just the initial week that he arrived. The good news is that we expect this lovely dog to make a complete recovery, as he is already showing good response to the treatment that has begun. Please sponsor Ron at RESQ and you can fill out our Adoption Typeform on under our Adoption tab if you would like give this boy his chance at a forever home.
