Pixie was involved in an accident on the streets which left her with a terrible wound. Inadequate medical attention left the wound deeply infected and infested with maggots before someone was kind enough to bring her to a vet. Pixie's condition is critical, and she is going to need a complete hind limb amputation. This is especially hard for young puppies who are still growing, as it may adversely affect their posture.
Pixie is here at RESQ for her surgery and post-operative care. She is going to need plenty of fluids, antibiotics and proper pain management. Her post-operative care is even more vital, as she will need physiotherapy, laser therapy and supplements to ensure no lasting impact on her growth and posture. Please help us, help Pixie!
