Mishka…a husky’s story
About a month ago a scrawny puppy whose body comprised of uncountable oozing, red, angry cracks of pus was admitted into the RESQ Rehabilitation and Rehoming Hospital. Had it not been for her distinctive husky eyes and snout, we wouldn’t have thought that she was one.
The skin scraping examination revealed that she was suffering from Demodectic Mange, a skin disease.
Here’s the things- Yes, Demodectic Mange is very painful, itchy and like something is constantly gnawing at your skin( which the mites are literally And actually doing ! ).The animal’s full body is one big hurt. But, it is also 100% treatable and curable. It however takes time and resources.
This is where you come in. In the past you have been amazing supportive and we ask for your support once more. Mishka will be residing and recovering at the hospital for a while as she recovers and recuperates. Her treatment began at once and slowly the infection in her skin is healing but her fur is yet to grow back.
Her road to complete recovery will be long.
