She’s braved the streets after being gravely injured… But Duella is safe at RESQ now!
We all know that fights among street dogs can turn ugly. This is one of the examples of a worst-case scenario of the consequences of such fights. This feisty girl came to us with a maggot-infested head wound from a dog bite. Clearly she had been in an altercation with one or more dogs (over territory maybe?) and came off worse in the ensuing tussle. Her wound must have gone unchecked for days, leading to maggot infestation, infection and necrosis. We have named her Duella because of the two sides of her faces being completely different.
The wound is deep enough for her skull to be exposed. Our vets are still trying to determine if they can salvage vision in her wounded eye. After giving her the treatment she needs and all the love and care from everyone here at RESQ we think that she will make a full recovery in a month or two! You too, can contribute towards her recovery. All you have to do is click on this link (sponsor link).
We appreciate the efforts of you good Samaritans who lookout for all the animals with whom we share our urban spaces!
