We attended to a rescue call about a dog that had fallen down a pumping station at the Parvati Water treatment plant. It had been over two hours ghat she was struggling in the chlorinated water when we reached the location. The water was 12 ft deep and we could not see her in the pitch darkness.
Once we were there we requested the officials to decrease the water level so that we could go down and look for her.
That is when we noticed that she had somehow managed to climb herself out of a water drain and was out shivering.
She is blind, she is old and she is out on the streets fending for herself and barely getting by.
We saw her in distress and were moved by her struggles.
To give her a second chance at life and make sure she does not have to look out for herself at every corner.
She will be staying with us at the RESQ Centre.
