Thor
Share and spread the word:
We found this sweet little boy with a horrific injury. Nearly half of his face been smothered with maggots, to the point that it was difficult to even recognise him. The tissue around his right eye had been so severely eaten through, that when we conducted an enucleation (ocular surgery involving the removal of the eye), there was no flesh left to stitch back together.
Fortunately for us, our Thor is a fighter. Not only is he an incredibly loving and friendly dog (just look at how sweet and gentle he is in this video!), but he is also an incredibly tenacious dog whose spirit refuses to be broken by the trauma of his injury. Because of the intensity of his wound, Thor's recovery is one of the slowest we've seen at the ResQ Centre this month, but that doesn't stop him from trying.
Our veterinarians are going to attempt a skin graft surgery for Thor, but are worried that the severity of his wound may not prove favourable for such a complex procedure. Thankfully, our vets just so happen to be superheroes in their own right, and will do everything in their capacity to help Thor. Won't you help Thor, too?
