Sally & Molly
Share and spread the word:
On the day of the Maharashtra Bandh, while the city slept in light of political unrest, the RESQ team ventured outside to respond to a distress call we knew we couldn't ignore.
Sally the mother donkey was found with severe pus-filled wounds on her legs. She was so overworked and undernourished that she could no longer bear her own weight, and had been lying flat in the middle of a garbage dump for 4 days. Standing beside her through it all was Molly: the baby donkey who was doomed to watch her own mother die.
Thankfully, our RESQ Ambulance arrived just in time, and rescued both Mama Sally and Baby Molly from the cruel fate their humans had abandoned them to. Donkeys are often referred to as "beasts of burden", but what one sometimes tends to forget is that animals live, breathe, and feel just like we do: to treat a living being like a machine is to resign them to the cruelest fate imaginable.
Please help Sally and Molly by contributing towards their treatment! To help, click the DONATE button below.
