Petal
Share and spread the word:
Petal came to us in an extremely distressed condition. Probably in her puppyhood, a metal wire was tied tightly around her neck either as an act of cruelty or pure ignorance. As Petal grew the wire started cutting through her skin, creating a large gaping wound.
The intensity of pain she was in, had numbed her and she stayed completely still as our team cut off the wire and removed it from her neck. We further examined and dressed her wound. Petal received medicine to ease her pain, fluid therapy to reduce her apathy and antibiotics to combat the infection the wire may have caused. As soon as her medication and wound dressing was completed, we were very heartened to see her sit up and look around for the first time since she was brought to us. This tiny spark of resilience gives us hope that she will make it through this trauma and recover!
The metal wire has cut deeply through her neck, making it is necessary that the wound will need surgical assistance to heal and close completely. We will shower Petal with lots of love and care to help her regain her spirt and blossom into the happy dog we know she is!
