With a deep and large maggot infested wound on his head , Jackie, was reported to be roaming the streets of Viman Nagar. After multiple attempts these past few days, today, we were able to approach and catch him for treatment at the ResQ center.
Our team carefully removed the maggots and his wound was dressed to prevent it from getting any worse. His daily treatment includes the necessary painkillers, antibiotics and antiseptic wound dressings. Maggot wounds this deep often cause septicemia and so we will be closely monitoring him to ensure that doesn’t occur. Every dog has a different rate of recovery, but we estimate, he will require daily dressings, medications and supplements for at least two months to be a healthy dog again.
