People often make commitments they cannot keep. Breaking commitments has different repercussions, however, in the case of abandoning a pet that is family, it affects their entire being, often resulting in trauma and a painful death.
We often wonder.. how do people find it in their hearts to abandon family that they have willingly and consciously chosen? It’s not an uncommon happening at ResQ that we find animals forsaken by their owners because of sickness or old age, when they need them the most.
Alpha, the old male German Shepherd was suffering with an ear and eye infection and fever. He is extremely friendly with humans but is wary of other dogs, probably because he was the only animal at his home. Alpha is being treated for his eye infection and we are sure that good food and exercise will help him feel healthier.
