First Aid Course: March 2017

March 23, 2017
by Team RESQ

We've successfully finished our Canine First Aid course today at ResQ!

This time's batch was a bunch of 26 enthusiastic people who were super eager to learn! Over the last two days, we had a theory as well as a hands on session, to learn about the most common medical conditions in stray dogs. They were taught to recognise typical symptoms for each condition and the treatment protocol for each. From learning about vaccinations and deworming schedules to neonatal care, we tried to conduct a comprehensive course which could be implemented practically when an injured stray dog is spotted.

Everyone practiced some basic techniques at the centre today, including wound dressings and injections. After conducting a test to gauge everyone’s knowledge levels, we’re happy to say that everyone did very well! All of them are not equipped to administer basic first aid to injured stray dogs on the streets.

If you’re interested in attending our next Canine First Aid Course, keep an eye on our Facebook Page for updates.

We also have a copy of our self published book “Basic First Aid for Stray Dogs” available for purchase at the ResQ Centre.
