Rad was found lying at the side of the road, the lady who called us said she had seen him there the day before and two hours before we got there. He was just lying there and looked up to us when we called him and tried to touch him. He was really weak and the wound was full of maggots and just horrifying.

It was a Sunday and luckily we had some of our volunteers available too. Ranjan and Mitadru were there and we managed to get Rad into the car with not much trouble. Took him back to the kennel and cleaned him out. The wound was bigger than we imagined and we took out what must have been over a hundred maggots.

Rad’s wound is healing very well and he should be completely ok in another 2 weeks.

This doggy was seen by me just a lane down from the ResQ office. We tried multiple times to get close to her to catch her so we could start her treatment as she was in desperate need of some help. But she had been chased away and possibly beaten by so many people because of how she looked, that she wouldn’t let us anywhere close to her.

She was very weak as the mange also sucks away all nutrition from the dog. She was scared but she would come near enough to eat as she was starving. So we started medicating her in the food.

After a month of going back and feeding her every day and medicating her every alternate day, she started to show some signs of recovery.

Its now been two months since we started treatment and Hairless Wonder is well on her way to a full recovery!!

This is Buzo. He was brought in by Aparna (a very very dedicated volunteer) as this old man had a hugee maggoted wound on his ear and head.

We usually don’t get wound cases into the kennel as they can be treated on site but this was an exception. He would not have survived if we left him there.

Buzo took about a month to heal completely and then he also had to have a surgery to remove a growth above his tail. So this took another 15 days or so to heal. Then Buzo was finally released!! Kudos Aparna for all the hard work and determination!!
