We got a frantic call one afternoon from Aundh, near Spicer College. All the caller said is that there is a puppy ‘gasping’. Wounds and skin, other less serious cases we attend to when we make a schedule for Rescues for the Day.
When we hear the word ‘gasping’ we run.
Aparna, Namrata and me headed out to Aundh. What we saw left us dumbfounded. A black puppy about 3 months old, thin and frail, gasping hard, both his eyes cut out and kept next to him where he was lying. I cannot comprehend what had happened. There was not a single wound on the rest of his body, not a single broken bone, no swelling, no temperature. I could not understand why his eyes, evidently cut out, were kept neatly next to him. We wanted to really try but Iris did not make it.
He’s definitely in Heaven now, hopefully watching beautiful things that he would have never seen here.
Oh Gosh!! I’m so sorry! I can’t imagine why someone would do something like that!

Its so sad to hear what horrible things people can do…m so sorry for Iris..may he rest in peace..
